A new friend

We had Sara for the first time today.  She will only be coming intermittantly.  Her mom works for the Vision program in Delta and her schedule is really flexible.  Sara is three.  She and Jade got along famously.  Dempsey was 'too little' for lots of their games, which would be dolls, and playing dress up, and of course talking on the phone.  Sara is  'talking' to her grandma.

Jade sang a song at naptime that went something like this:

"The man went to the store.
He punched the bad guys with his hands.
He went home.
He pooped off the edge.
His mom wiped it up.
He spilled his drink
His mom wiped it up.
I'm done."

Meeting Friends at the Park

We met a girl name Laura who will be in Jake's kindergarten class.  She has curly brown hair and seems very nice.  We also met Jill Keller who will be a reading aid for the kindergarten.  She told Jake she would see a lot of him.



A cute girl name Jade saw Avery at the park.  She was excited.  She remembered her from a get together at Grant's sister's house.  (I think.)  She took her down slides, on the merry go round, and around on her hip.

Glimpses

My mom is so mean

I overheard Jake tell Zeke the following:

My mom is so mean.  I asked her if I could pet my grandma's cat and she said, "No! if you do you'll be in big trouble!" and that was only petting a cat!

The girls sleep so well.  Jade loves this song that my mom used to sing to me when I was little:

I once had a doll it was all dressed in white
I called her my baby and I'd hold her tight.
Her eyes were so blue and her cheeks were so red.
I loved her best of all each time she said.
Mama. Mama.  One little word she knew.
Mama. Mama.  To me, it meant, "I love you."

All of the kids love to hold and entertain Avery, just a little more than she does.  Grant was right, she is a good eater!  She loved the Birthday cake.
